Whether you will be with us for the day or overnight for surgery or health care treatment, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. We encourage you to ask questions of your physician and our staff to help you prepare for your visit to Memorial Regional Hospital.
What to Bring
Some items you might want to bring:
- Blanket or quilt
- Books
- Favorite pillow
- Games*
- Nightlight*
- Sleepwear
- Snacks (if you do not have dietary restrictions)
- Toothbrush and comb
- Warm socks or slippers
Please bring anything that will make you feel comfortable while you are staying with us during your health care procedures. If you have any questions about what you may bring, please ask your nurse or medical caregiver or call (954) 987-2000.
*Electrical devices must be approved by Memorial Regional Hospital Facilities Department for safety.
Surgical Checklist
Below is a brief list of what must be accomplished prior to your surgery. More detailed information will be given, as needed, before and during your admission. Every effort will be made by our team of health care professionals to make this stressful time as pleasant as possible.
- Meet with the surgeon to discuss the health care procedure
- Schedule surgery and preadmission testing
- Arrange for directed-donor blood donations (if desired)
