Inpatient Psychiatric Programs
The Center for Behavioral Health's Inpatient Psychiatric Program helps those who need acute psychiatric care and stabilization in a safe, supportive atmosphere. Psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, consumer advocates, licensed mental health counselors, social workers, dietitians, certified therapeutic recreation specialists and registered art therapists provide comprehensive care. A variety of services is offered, including individual therapy, medication education, stress management, anger management, relaxation techniques, community resources, coping skills, recreation and discharge planning.
Mood Disorder Unit
The Mood Disorder Unit treats patients with disorders such as major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, substance abuse disorder or a related mental illness. Personalized treatment helps to stabilize symptoms so the individual can return home as soon as possible.
Medical Neuro-Psychiatric Unit
Individuals with neurological problems associated with psychiatric, organic or cognitive disorders are given extensive diagnostic evaluations, observation, help
with living skills, nutritious meals and individual or group counseling. The staff is specially trained to work with elderly patients.
Thought Disorder Unit
Acute care for psychotic or disorganized behavior is provided, with individualized psychopharmacological treatments and therapeutic activities to help stabilize symptoms.
Child & Adolescent Unit
The Center for Behavioral Health's Child and Adolescent Unit provides effective treatment for youths struggling with emotional illness or substance abuse. A safe, structured environment provides the setting for treatment before the patient moves to a less restrictive environment for additional care. Involuntary services for adolescent substance abusers are also available.
