Inpatient Psychiatric Services
The Center for Behavioral Health's inpatient psychiatric services at Memorial Regional Hospital help those who need acute psychiatric care and stabilization in a secure, supportive atmosphere. Psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, consumer advocates, licensed mental health counselors, social workers, dietitians, certified therapeutic recreation specialists and registered art therapists provide comprehensive care. A variety of inpatient psychiatric services is offered, including individual therapy, medication education, stress management, anger management, relaxation techniques, community resources, coping skills, recreation and discharge planning.
Mood Disorder Unit
The Center for Behavioral Health Mood Disorder Unit treats patients with disorders such as major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, substance abuse disorder or a related mental illness. Personalized treatment helps to stabilize symptoms so the individual can return home as soon as possible.
Thought Disorder Unit
Acute care for psychotic or disorganized behavior is provided, with individualized psychopharmacological treatments and therapeutic activities to help stabilize symptoms.
Child and Adolescent Treatment Services Unit
The Center for Behavioral Health Child and Adolescent Treatment Services Unit is dedicated to treating youths struggling with emotional illness or substance abuse. A secure, structured environment provides the setting for treatment before the patient moves to a less restrictive environment for additional care. Involuntary services for adolescent substance abusers are also available.
