Esther L. Grossman Women's Health & Resource Center
The Esther L. Grossman Women's Health & Resource Center is dedicated to helping women stay healthy through prevention, detection and wellness programs. From bone density testing to support for nursing mothers, an array of customized services is offered.
Among the health services provided are:
Bone Density Services
Bone density screenings can detect and help reduce the risk of osteoporosis and fractures. Although both sexes lose bone mass over time, women experience serious complications more often than men. With proper detection, however, loss of bone mass can be treated and — in some cases — stopped or even reversed.
Digital Breast Imaging
Both the American Cancer Society and the Society of Breast Imaging recommend annual screening mammograms starting at age 40 for a woman with no risk factors and earlier for a woman with a personal or family history of breast cancer or other risk factor. Mammography services include the leading-edge R2 ImageChecker, which digitally analyzes mammogram images.
For an appointment, please call Centralized Scheduling (954) 276-5500.
Education Classes
Education classes are provided on topics such as menopause, osteoporosis and stress relief.
Perinatal Education
Perinatal Education includes information about baby care, parenting and grandparenting, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and infant massage.
The Center's resource library — with Internet access, videotapes and brochures — is a wealth of information on hundreds of health topics. A lecture series features the latest information about menopause, osteoporosis and other timely issues. The staff also helps families prepare for the birth of a baby with classes such as breastfeeding for expectant moms and basic baby care for soon-to-be dads.
Programs and services are offered in a warm, welcoming, home-like environment.
